Are you interested in teaching Yoga and Mindfulness in a trauma-sensitive and/or addiction based setting? Transformation Yoga Project is offering a special training for yoga teachers, social workers and committed yoga practitioners interested in working with people who have been impacted by trauma and/or addiction. This is a full day workshop, led by Colleen DeVirgiliis and Mike Huggins of Transformation Yoga Project and hosted by Enso. The Workshop will reflect their experience leading Yoga and Mindfulness classes in drug and alcohol rehabilitation facilities and prisons, as well as yoga classes for veterans at the Veterans Administration in Coatesville. Early Bird special – 5 per person until April 30, then 0. Limited to 30 participants Topics will include: What is trauma, and how does it affect the mind, body and ability to confront the challenges in our lives? What is addiction? What causes addiction?  How to use Yoga and Mindfulness to heal the mind-body connection and provide tools to calm, focus and find personal strength and balance How a trauma-sensitive Yoga and Mindfulness class is different from a regular yoga class; and Approaches for establishing yoga classes in Recovery Facilities (in-patient, out-patient, studios) Approaches for establishing yoga classes in detention centers, and within the criminal justice system. What to include and what to avoid in teaching a trauma-sensitive Yoga and Mind­fulness class.
