Join Us for an Extraordinary Presentation and Book Signing Event! “Navigating Grace: Sustaining Recovery through Grief and Loss,” by Jeff Jay This presentation by clinical interventionist, educator and best-selling author Jeff Jay will describe the spiritual foundations of recovery and how a spiritual connection can help people navigate through adversity, including personal testimony to the power of grace.   Twelve Step recovery programs have demonstrated efficacy in reducing alcohol/other drug use and establishing sobriety among participants, and Twelve Step Facilitation is acknowledged as an evidence based treatment by SAMHSA.  Twelve Step recovery programs address the individual’s spirituality and refer to a “Power greater than oneself” and “God as we understand God” as a source of personal change and support. Participants in Twelve Step recovery programs find spiritual connection helps them to sustain recovery when challenged with difficult situations. This presentation by clinical interventionist, educator and best-selling author Jeff Jay will describe the spiritual foundations of recovery and discuss how spiritual connection helps recovering people navigate through adversity. His work has appeared on CNN, the Jane Pauley Show, PBS, Forbes Online and professional journals. He is a graduate of the University of Minnesota, and a certified intervention specialist, and a certified addictions professional. He has served as president of the Terry McGovern Foundation in Washington, DC, and on the boards of directors for several professional organizations.  “I am passionate about intervention for a very simple reason,” says Jeff. “Intervention saved my life.” Jeff is the coauthor of the best-selling book Love First: A Family’s Guide to Intervention, (2nd Ed., Hazelden, 2008). His new book from Hazelden is: Navigating Grace, a solo voyage of survival and redemption. He is also co-author of At Wit’s End: What You Need to Know When a Loved One Is Diagnosed with Addiction and Mental Illness. He heads a national private practice that provides intervention and mentoring services, along with Structured Family Recovery™. He is is a former clinician with the Hazelden Foundation and Sacred Heart Rehabilitation Center. He currently serves on the advisory board of Jefferson House, in Detroit, Michigan. His personal recovery from addiction dates from October 4, 1981.
