Instructor: Jim Anderson Grades 6 – 12 Tuition: 0 Classes will meet Saturday mornings from 9:00 – 10:30 on October 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 and November 5. Local Director and Theatre Arts Coach, Jim Anderson will conduct a 6-week Musical Theatre Intensive consisting of a total of 10 instructional hours focusing on Acting, Singing and Dancing techniques with material from a variety of comedic Broadway productions.  Each student will learn an individual song as well as participate in a group production number that will culminate in an Invitation-Only showcase on Saturday, November 5, 2016. Jim Anderson has been involved in the arts his entire life. An accomplished musician, Actor, Vocal Coach, Director and Choreographer, he is a 1987 graduate of the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in NYC, and has a Business Degree from Alaska Pacific University. He has performed in various productions in Alaska, Los Angeles and NYC as well as locally in both ACP (Aiken Community Playhouse) and AKB (Aiken Kidney Benefit) productions. Jim appeared in the Docu-Drama “Edgefield, Stage of Southern History” as Governor Francis Pickens, that was filmed for SCETV; and has appeared in both local and regional commercials in the Phoenix, AZ and Augusta, GA markets.  Jim has directed Youth Theater Arts programs in Alaska, Arizona and most recently with ACP in Aiken where he served as the Executive Director of the Youth Wing program and was responsible for the creation of the Immersion program which provides advanced opportunities for students wanting to increase their exposure to professional Theater Arts training, while broadening their overall skill-set. He is a motivational speaker and involved with several non-profit agencies in Aiken County; but his greatest passion at the moment is working on a Business Model for an International Arts and Leadership initiative that he hopes to launch in the near future.
