Ethics for Addiction Counselors Presenter: Jon S. Course Description: This training will discuss and demonstrate to the Licensed Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor, (LADAC) the NAADAC Code of Ethics. The Counseling Professional will learn the ethical principles that NAADAC, the Association of Addiction Professionals has set as a standard for the behavior of the addiction professional. Objectives:Upon completion of this class the LADAC will: Have a fundamental understanding of the NAADAC Code of Ethics. Have a solid understanding of confidentiality and the exceptions to the rule. Understand the global criteria of behavior becoming a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor. (W.L. White Critical Incidents, 1993) Demonstrate emphatic behavior toward special populations without compromising one’s own belief system.
