But my work with Sarah and using the Power of Love Leadership strategies has been a great success. In particular, it completely altered how I dealt with one incredibly challenging relationship. It didn’t mean I was able to change his behaviour (for that to happen he could really use Sarah’s help) but it did allow me to conduct a productive business relationship when otherwise that may not have happened. I think Sarah’s approach offers a genuine insight into how we react to the whole range of situations and people we have to deal with and it has given me an effective tool kit to help manage my responses." The Leadership Profit Chain is based upon research by Ken Blanchard (via Ken Blanchard Companies) i You want to Increase Your Profit By taking care of employees, leaders establish an environment in which employees take care of their customers. Therefore your customers are more likely stay loyal. If you focus too much of your attention on profit, you have your eye on the scoreboard and not on the ball. Profit is a by-product of serving the customer, which can only be achieved by serving the employee. How well do your leadership behaviours enable you to focus on serving your employees? ii You want to be Competitive Are you or your organisation satisfied with being Good? Or do you aspire to be Great? The difference between being ‘good’ or ‘great’ will be greatly impacted by the behaviours and abilities of your leadership. Jim Collins found through 5 years of research in writing his book ‘Good To Great’, that there are certain leadership behaviours (Level 5 Leaders) which make the most difference to organisations being ‘great’ e.g. humility and resilience. To what extent are you content with being consistently good? How are you planning to be consistently great? How well do you / your leaders demonstrate Level 5 Leadership Behaviours) e.g. reflective self-awareness, humility and emotional resilience? iii You want to Maximise Your Team Performance The Guardian’s Happiness at Work Survey, ‘The Guardian 500,’ found that only 27% of people felt high levels of happiness at work and only 43% were proud to be a part of their organisation. Gallup also found that in the UK only 15% of employees described themselves as ‘engaged’ with 60% saying they were ‘not engaged’. Leadership has a more direct impact on engagement than any other single variable and employee engagement is up to 50% higher among organisations with exemplary leaders. These workplaces also have higher performance than those with leaders who demonstrate less exemplary leadership practices. Great leaders engage teams and harness their energy to perform to their highest ability. They turn average individual performers into an A-team. Who you are (your personality) determines how you behave, the decisions you make, and the culture you instil. These three consequences of your character will have a substantial impact on your team’s performance and morale. As a leader, ask yourself the following questions: Do you consistently set goals and establish clarity? Do you create effective team processes? What sort of climate are you creating? Is there a clear alignment between what you say and what you do? Do you provide employees with critical, but constructive, feedback? Do you push your team to perform to the highest possible level? Finally, do you know what your team’s mind-set is right now? In many cases, there is untapped potential in your organisation. Your leadership should be maximising the potential contributions of every employee and positively impacting the bottom line of your business. What percentage of your employees are maximising their contribution? Are you, your team and your organisation team realising your / their potential? REGISTER NOW: Please complete your Registration by Friday 9th September 2016 to secure your place. Please commit the dates (shown in Section 4 below) to your diary. 3. What is the Power of Love Leadership? This Leadership Development Programme will assist all leaders with personalised growth and development. As part of the Programme, leaders will also learn how to use the strategies of The Power of Love Leadership. This is a unique and powerful methodology that revolutionises your way of leading and working to get more effective results. “I went through a very successful coaching programme with Sarah over several months in 2014. Sarah is a highly experienced and insightful coach and mentor. Combining careful listening with acute prompting Sarah elicited much worthwhile self-analysis and reassessment of goals, strategies and management style. Her collaborative manner developed trust quickly. Sarah was very effective in guiding me to see strengths and weaknesses objectively and find quite varied keys to unlock better performance and working approaches for myself and my team. She was also a mine of resources, short exercises, practical tips and thought-provoking articles/texts that helped achieve results, and got me to do things differently with a high performing team and resolve team niggles. I thoroughly recommend her.” Managing Director and Associate General Counsel, Global Investment Bank. The Power of Love Leadership methodology helps you to understand how your behaviours are based upon love or fear and clarify what difference this makes to the results you get. Fear is necessary for us to survive, but we tend to use it more than is needed. It shows itself in our day to day leadership behaviours e.g. procrastination, not speaking up, staying within our comfort zone, feeling less confident, blaming others or ineffectively managing performance issues in our team. It is normal for us all to experience these and more, but when they limit our effectiveness we are not making the most of the leadership results we could achieve. Scientific studies have found that being more positive as a leader and using emotional intelligence that comes from ‘a place of love’ and has a more positive effect on our health and the emotions of people around us. As a leader this therefore impacts how you lead e.g. the way in which you communicate and influence your team. The Power of Love Leadership methods enable a consciousness of the results we get, so that we can understand whether they come from love or fear. The methodology provides strategies for how we can change our behaviours so that we act more productively, from a place of e.g. humility, gratitude and love. This results in businesses enhancing their performance because their leaders develop more creativity, effective decisions, resilience, emotional intelligence and trusting, honest relationships. 4. Further Information about Hogan Psychometric Assessments: – Hogan’s Personality Inventory (HPI): Provides information regarding the “bright side” of personality, day to day characteristics that appear during social interaction that can facilitate or inhibit your ability to get along with others and achieve your goals. – Hogan Development Survey (HDS): Offers insight into how those skills and attributes that have made you successful in your career to date may be overused and become impediments to success when you are under pressure, in career transition or facing certain extreme or unfamiliar situations. It looks at the ‘dark side’ of personality which may also be the areas of personality about which individuals have ‘blind spots’. As such, it’s very useful in the context of development as it provides a good indicator of how you may derail under pressure and what the consequences of this may be for your relationships and functioning. "The most common reason for leadership failure is the inability to build or maintain a team. This is typically a function of certain dysfunctional interpersonal tendencies that can be identified through the Hogan assessments." Hogan Assessments – Hogan’s Motives, Values Preferences Inventory (MVPI): Reveals your core values that motivate major life choices and decisions. It’s a powerful way of assessing the alignment between you and your team, department and organisational culture. It’s developed from 80 years of research on motivation, with 10 scales giving an all-encompassing analysis of the motives and values that drive an individual. – Hogan Emotional Intelligence (EQ) Inventory Compiled from your answers to the HPI and HDS, the Hogan EQ assessment evaluates emotional intelligence, or the ability to perceive, control, and share one’s own and others’ emotions. EQ comprises the ability to recognise and control your own emotions and understand what those emotions are telling you. EQ also means that you can recognise the emotional wants and needs of others and respond appropriately. Put simply, EQ determines your self-awareness and your people skills and is necessary for building trust, creating a sense of identity and efficacy, solving problems with others, cooperating, and participating productively in a group. You will have access to a personalised report that described whether you have low, below average, above average or high EQ and your coaching with Sarah will help you to find strategies of developing and strengthening your EQ. 12.
