Family Support Groups Help Family Caregivers of Individuals Living with Mental Illness

NAMI Johnson County, the local NAMI Affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental
Illness sponsors a Family Support Group for family members of adults living with mental illness on Thursday evenings at 6:30pm at NAMI office at 1105 Gilbert Ct.
Onset of mental illness frequently occurs in a person’s 20s, after the age of adulthood has been reached, but nonetheless having a major impact on family members.
NAMI’s Family Support Groups focus on stages of emotional response, principles of support and problem-solving. Attendance is free of charge.

Mental illness includes major depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia and other conditions.
