Event on 2016-07-15 16:00:00
On May 23, 2015, the town of Braintree lost a young man by the name of Nicholas Bean. Nick was only 20 years old when he lost his battle with substance use disorder. Since then there is one overdose after another; it's time we put a stop to that. The goal of Beanstock is to not only raise awareness for the opioid crisis and raise money for "The Sun Will Rise" Foundation (see below), but to also have fun while doing this."The Sun Will Rise" Foundation is an organization founded by Nick's mother Robyn Houston-Bean, who has been relentlessly fighting to put a stop to this disease. Funds will go towards prevention, education, rehab programs/"scholarships," and more. There will be a candle light vigil outside of Town Hall starting at 8:45pm, where we will name those we have lost to this terrible disease. Performers include: Jumpstart Kuwait Grips Nova Below See Level and many more!Addiction resource tables will also be available. Please keep in mind this event is to put an end to the epidemic, so this will be a 100% DRUG FREE EVENT: that means no drugs (including marijuana), alcohol, and preferably no tobacco.
